The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has finally approved the .XXX top level domain name. This clears the way for pornography and other sexually explicit material a new, clearly marked and obvious, home on the internet. This will help schools, organizations, companies, and parents have the ability to block and review access to such material.
It appears (or I missed it) that there is no longer the requirement for existing adult sites to move their .com's to the new .xxx and having penalties if they did not. This may have been the provision that got the final green light.
