Attack Computer Wiz

A Security & Technology Weblog

In a promotional stunt to advertise their new game Homefront, THQ released 10,000 Luftballoons (red balloons) into the skies of San Francisco. But what goes up must come down of course and soon after the launch many of those balloons came to rest in the San Francisco bay. A spokesperson from THQ said that the balloons are biodegradable and will not be there long.

This sure seems like a dumb move for a company to pull. People don't like to see trash in our oceans and sea animals being choked by our litter. Gamestop probably was not too happy about this stunt either. The balloons had there name on them even though they claim not to be involved.
