Installing and configuring Ubuntu with full disk encryption is quite simple if you follow the below steps:
- Download the alternative installation iso and burn it to disk. (LINK)
- Boot from disk and accept the basic language and region settings, stop at partitioner.
- Choose "Guided - use entire disk and set up encrypted LVM".
- Choose the the disk that you are going to partition.
- Select "Yes" to confirm and write changes.
- Enter your encryption password/pass phrase.
- Choose the disk size.
- Select "Yes" to confirm and write changes.
- Now continue as normal with the Ubuntu installation.
