This is a follow-up to my post from February 19th entitled “School Uses Webcam to Spy on Student"
A federal court judge has laid down the law on the Lower Merion School District. They have been ordered not to activate the webcam software that is the subject of so much controversy.
MyFoxPhilly.com is reporting that the school acknowledged they never notified the students or their parents of the webcam spying technology loaded on the school issued laptops.
While in my previous post I stated that the school district has an obligation to protect the interests of the tax payer, they have an equal obligation to notify the students and their parents of the methods that they will be taking to protect those interests.
